MEN FELLOWSHIP CONSTITUTION

 

1.0 NAME :

St. Barnabas Church Men’s Fellowship

 

2.0 OBJECTIVES:

2.1 To support, encourage and foster deeper, meaningful relationships of all men in our parish. [Proverbs 27:17, Hebrews 10:23-25]

2.2 To implement and organize activities and events that will inspire the spiritual,

emotional and physical growth of men in our parish. [2 Corinthians 3:17-18]

2.3 To provide resources, training and materials to nurture men in our parish to become more effective men, husbands and fathers. [Ephesians 5:25-28, 6:4]

2.4 To be actively involved and to provide support through the offering of solutions,

resources and manpower for the mission and ministry of SBC and the community.

3.0 MEMBERSHIP:

3.1 Membership shall be open to all Men who are listed on the electoral roll of the Church and are of 35 years of age and above.

3.2 The monthly Subscription Fee will be RM 5.00 per member.

3.3 Application for membership shall be submitted on the prescribed form to the Vice President.

3.4 The membership register will be updated every 6 months.

 

4.0 RESPONSIBILITY OF MEMBER:

4.1 To be committed and actively participate in activities organized by the Fellowship.

4.2 Should be able to attend and participate in the monthly meetings of the Fellowship.

4.3 To regularly pay the monthly subscriptions.

 

5.0 COMMITTEE:

5.1 Office Bearers shall be elected to form an Executive Committee which shall comprise of the following:

5.1.1 President

5.1.2 Vice President

5.1.3 Hon Secretary

5.1.4 Hon Treasurer

5.1.5 Three (3) Committee Members

 

5.2 Terms in Office:

5.2.1 The Office Bearers are to hold office for two (2) Years.

5.2.2 Vacancies in the Office Bearers may be filled at any general meeting of the

Fellowship.

6.0 FUNCTION OF OFFICE BEARERS:

 

6.1 The President:

6.1.1 Shall chair all meetings of the Fellowship.

6.1.2 Shall or appoint his nominee to represent the Fellowship at the PCC meeting.

6.1.3 Shall or appoint office bearers to coordinate the various Fellowship activities.

 

6.2 The Vice President:

6.2.1 Shall chair the meeting of the Fellowship in the absence of the President.

6.2.2 Shall assist the President in coordinating the various activities of the Fellowship.

6.2.3 Shall keep an updated list of all members of the Fellowship.

6.2.4 Shall check on members who have not been participating or attending meetings and make suitable recommendations to the executive committee for approval.

 

6.3 The Hon Secretary:

6.3.1 Shall keep record of all proceedings of the meeting held.

6.3.2 Shall be responsible for all correspondence of the Fellowship.

6.3.3 Shall be responsible for the notification of all meetings and circulations of minutes, newsletters and circulars with the consent of the President.

 

6.4 The Hon Treasurer:

6.4.1 Shall keep proper written records of all monies received and spent for the Fellowship.

6.4.2 Shall submit an up to date account of finances of the Fellowship at monthly meetings and as when required by the committee.

6.4.3 Shall submit the Fellowship accounts to be audited periodically by the internal auditors appointed by the Church.

6.4.4 Shall ensure that all cash (save petty cash-in-hand) is handed over to the Church Office and to liaise with the Church Treasurer to ensure the accounts tally.

6.4.5 Shall hold petty cash up to a maximum of RM 200.00 at any one time.

 

6.5 The Committee Members:

6.5.1 Shall attend and actively participate in all meetings of the Fellowship.

6.5.2 Assist the President in organizing and implementing activities of the Fellowship.

7.0 GENERAL MEETINGS / ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS & EGM:

7.1 General meetings shall be held once a month.

7.2 The Quorum shall be one-third (1/3) of the membership of the Fellowship for all Meetings.

7.3 Adequate notices of the meeting (including the Agenda and the previous meeting minutes) shall be given prior to the meeting.

7.4 Notices for the Annual General Meetings, Extra-Ordinary General Meetings shall be seven (7) days in advance of the meeting.

7.5 Any Annual General Meetings postponed for lack of quorum or other reasons may be reconvened within one (1) month from the date of postponement but before the Parish AGM.

 

8.0 AMENDMENTS / ALTERATIONS TO THE CONSTITUTION:

8.1 Amendments or alterations to this constitution may be made at any Annual General Meeting or Extra-Ordinary General Meeting called for this purpose and approved by a vote of two-third (2/3) majority.

8.2 All amendments or disputes with regard to the interpretation of any provision of this constitution shall be at the approval / decision of the Vicar of the Church.
